Program Description
Our Master of Science in Nursing – Nurse Practitioner program is designed to prepare advanced practice registered nurses who are competent, ethical, and clinically proficient in providing high-quality, patient-centered healthcare across diverse populations and practice settings. The program emphasizes advanced clinical reasoning, evidence-based practice, interprofessional collaboration, and leadership to promote improved health outcomes and address the evolving healthcare needs of individuals, families, and communities.
The program is designed to prepare advanced nurses to deliver primary health care to patients in different settings. Students will guide families through life cycles using primary practice, pediatric, gynecologic, obstetric, and adult care diagnostic and management skills. The program further prepares graduates to meet the educational requirements necessary for eligibility to sit for the appropriate national nurse practitioner certification examination and to pursue advanced practice registered nurse licensure in accordance with applicable state regulatory requirements.

The Nurse Practitioner program requires 45 semester credit hours and is delivered residentially. The credential awarded is a Master of Science, and the program is designed to be completed in 60 weeks.
Students complete advanced coursework in theoretical foundations, applied pharmacology, pathophysiology, health assessment, advanced evidence-based practice, healthcare policy and economics, research methods, role development, primary care concepts, clinical practicum, and capstone study. The curriculum is built to support advanced nursing practice, clinical judgment, and leadership.
Program Objectives
Upon completion of the Master of Science Nurse Practitioner program, graduates will be able to plan and implement advanced nursing care with a focus on evidence-based practice; demonstrate knowledge of ethics, cultural competence, and advocacy; utilize healthcare informatics and emerging technologies; demonstrate leadership, decision-making, and legal and ethical responsibility; apply effective communication and interpersonal skills; contribute to nursing knowledge through research; demonstrate personal and professional growth; and recognize the importance of policy in promoting social justice and equity.
Important Note
Candidates who successfully complete the listed requirements should be aware that a student in the nurse practitioner program will not be eligible to sit for the board certification examinations until Emiraza College achieves initial accreditation. Board certification may be required for employment and other privileges in health care practice.
Admissions Requirements
Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science degree from an approved nursing program, submit official undergraduate transcripts translated and evaluated if from outside the United States with a GPA of 2.5 or better, and hold a current unrestricted RN license from a state within the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
